Infection control is the guard for protection of patients and dental health care personnels against various infectious diseases in dental offices. Infections such as Hepatitis B and C, together with the public concern over human immunodeficiency virus, have been highlighted through incidents of cross infection between dental personnel. These transmissions have led to the close examination of how infection control principles are employed within dentistry.
