My dear colleagues,

Excellence in any profession makes a person to reach his/her ultimate point of success in life. Public Health Dentistry, as a science of universal community, eagerly awaits dedicated achievers to bring about constructive changes in its application throughout the world. Our young talented professionals can take up the major role through a meticulous high-quality research. The knowledge gained through scientific activity needs to be shared throughout the world.

Our recognition at the international level opens up unexplored avenues for professional growth. The experienced faculty in our speciality needs to act as a guiding force to develop interest among young researchers. Many things that were thought impossible have been conquered today. Public Health Dentistry is so dynamic that every moment of time new knowledge is added, alternative theories are developed, and Public Health applications are modified with logical thinking.

Research is perpetually active, nobody in the world can reach the last point in the research on any subject. Every concept can be challenged and improved through lateral thinking. I believe the Science of Public Health Dentistry progresses forward only when my younger colleagues overtake the senior generation through exemplary knowledge and achievements.

I would like to emphasize specially that establishing our own identity in a particular domain of the scientific activity (Public Health Dentistry) is important. It creates a special status for the researcher at the international level for his/her contribution.

As Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam stated,
"Let us not stop when tired, stop only when we have accomplished the best."

Being in this noble profession is an honor and a huge responsibility for all of us. Let us take up every challenge as a duty toward mankind. Each one of us are capable of making valuable contributions that can make everybody on this planet smile better and live a high quality of life.

To conclude, let us draw inspiration from the following words of Mahatma Gandhi,
"Let us be aware,

We are one race,

We speak different languages,

We keep different tradition,

No matter who you are,

Or where you are,

Your PRESENT determines the FUTURE

You are not responsible for the PAST

But, you are for the FUTURE"

With warm regards
