  Report: International Day of the Girl Child Top




This was organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry, S. Nijalingappa Institute of Dental Science & Research, Kalaburagi. The program was conducted in the premises of District hospital and Basaveshwar Teaching and General Hospital, kalaburagi. The third year students distributed the fruit baskets to mother of newborn girl baby mother and fi nal year students distributed baby hygiene kits to the newborn girl baby in both the hospitals. All the students decorated the wards to make new born girl baby feel special. Our third year students performed the street skit title "Save the girl child" and gave message to stop the gender discrimination in the society, empower girls through active support.

  World Cancer Day Activity- 2017: 'We Can I Can' Top




The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, conducted an awareness program involving the postgraduates, interns and fi nal year BDS students posted in the department. The rally was fl agged off from the premises of Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences and marched through the city. The students protested against the use of alcohol and tobacco in all its forms by shouting anti-tobacco slogans and distributing pamphlets. The rally concluded with a fl ash mob and a street play conducted by the interns throwing light on the harmful effects of tobacco and alcohol. The skit ended with the burning of a tobacco-demon effigy.
