Greetings!

Welcome to the first issue of the year 2019.

First of all, I would like to sincerely thank all the members of the Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry to have extending the support in bringing out this issue.

Standards of scientific reporting have been under evolution since its very beginning. Such standards have been promoted by international groups such as the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and the Committee on Publication Ethics. Although all these guidelines are in place, they lack sufficient detail to ensure all important information is included. Therefore, in addition to these guidelines for preparing a manuscript, I request all the authors to also follow the guidelines given by numerous international groups such as the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology and the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials and submit the copy of these checklists along with the manuscript. By this, the review process can also be hastened and thereby improves quality of the article published in our esteemed journal. In future, it will be asked as a requirement for the submission of the manuscript. I hope to receive all the support from the authors in this regard.

I also request the members to submit the reports of activities conducted in their institutions for IAPHD news section of our journal.

I sincerely thank the editorial board members, the reviewers, the authors, and Medknow for extending their help in bringing out this first issue of 2019.
