Season's greetings to one and all!

It has been a wonderful experience and privilege being the president of the Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry. It has been a journey of 20 years in this esteemed association with the stalwarts of the subject to the present generation of the highly talented youth force. I feel I have honestly contributed in a small way to the growth of this association.

With the growing number in this specialty, there is a need to create new opportunities and options. National oral health policy is being worked out. There is a wide scope in this field, especially in the areas of research and data collection and analysis. I appeal to all the young graduates to take up research work and excel in clinical skills.

The association has already started working on the curriculum reforms program toward competency-based education and training and to prepare a vision document for the UG and PG courses.

Hearty congratulations to Dr. K. R. Sowmya and the editorial board for their hard work. Journal of Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry is now indexed with Indian citation index and opens up significant opportunities for authors.

The national tooth brushing program in Bhubaneshwar on November 17, 2019, was a massive success where the association achieved the Guinness Book of World Records certification. It is a magnificent milestone and oral health initiative by the association.

My best wishes and happy new year to all the members for the year 2020.
