On immunophenotyping, the proliferation was confirmed as polyclonal. No associated underlying condition such as infection or connective tissue disease was found. The importance of polyclonal plasmacytosis is discussed vis-a-vis the usual knee jerk reaction to diagnose multiple myeloma. ER -
