Greetings and good wishes,
Oral diseases have been proved to have a significant impact on the quality-of-life. It is also closely related to socioeconomic status and determinants of health marking inequalities. Demographic changes, lifestyles, and changing food habit are affecting disease prevalence. Public health dentistry which is primarily concerned with prevention and reduction in disease has to apply new concepts through accessible, affordable, and attainable level of oral health care included in the oral health policy.
We need to identify the cause for neglect in the national, regional, and local health contexts due to low priority in the political decisions (low budget). Our oral health person power is not based on national needs and coupled with no control over distribution resulting in nonexistent and inadequate services.
We, the members need to seriously think and apply our minds while training our students and prepare them practical oriented and innovative to serve the people in the country.
