First of all, I immensely thank all our esteemed members for electing me as President of our prestigious Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry (IAPHD). It is a great responsibility to be heading our professional body at the national level. Your confidence in me and affection shown truly catalyzed my commitment as President of IAPHD. It was a marvelous and challenging journey for our association since 1993. The humble beginning has reached an incredible level making us an integral part of one of the reputed professional body in India. All our members deserve an appreciation for such recognition at the national level.
The subject of Public Health Dentistry is being taught across India at Postgraduate and under-graduate level with high quality of academic standards. This has changed the whole scenario and motivated many young dental graduates to pursue Public Health Dentistry as their future career. Our subject trains every student to face any academic and professional challenge with a high degree of competency. The exceptional interest shown especially by female dental graduates in Public Health Dentistry contributed greatly to the academic excellence. They have shown the marvelous commitment and proved their versatility on many occasions at various platforms. I feel they need to make in-roads into administrative and policy making levels in our association. Their empowerment will be very crucial for perpetual balance in futuristic achievements.
It is impressive to see our self-motivated young MDS graduates contributing greatly with true zeal and eagerness. I assure all young professionals that there is a vast range of opportunities in our country as well as abroad. Exploring opportunities outside our country will make them understand the true potential of our subject. As the President of IAPHD, I am always eager to interact with young graduates and contribute in best possible way so that we grow with our profession thus making major difference in our life achievements.
We are a big team of Public Health Dentistry. Every member has immense potential, we need to create an opportunity to explore and nurture existing talent. IAPHD provides the best possible platform to exhibit our skills. I welcome major changes in our thinking; look for new modalities to achieve best at any competitive level. It is my dream to see our Public Health post graduates excel and show the highest standards in their professional commitment so that our society and every under-privileged Indian are served to the best of our ability.
