Greetings!
Welcome to the third issue of the year 2017.
Indexing of a journal in high-quality indexing agencies is very important from the point of reaching a wide range of researchers across the globe. In this direction, we have implemented the suggestions given by our publishing partner MEDKNOW. However, the progress is relatively slow with JIAPHD being indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals. This has been the matter of concern among our members and also authors when they chose journal for publishing their article. I am of the opinion that we should constantly focus on improving the quality of the journal and increase our visibility by innovative studies that may attract more citations and recognition for our work in India.
Authors should not only focus on research but also on writing to reach the desired audience. The key is in following the author guidelines which provide essential checklist for designs followed in the research. Peer review demands attention to the comments and prompt reply. Whenever there is a delay in the process of review–revision, the research publication gets affected. We have a collective responsibility as authors and reviewers to perform our work professionally with the intention of providing authentic information which will have public health significance.
Besides original articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses are appreciated. Studies with mixed designs seem to be the trend of late. As public health dentists, let us do research or programs that can make our existence more meaningful. I sincerely thank the authors, reviewers, Editorial Board, MEDKNOW, and IAPHD head office for supporting in all our endeavors.
Best wishes
