“Knowledge is inherent in man, no knowledge comes from outside, it is all inside. What we say a man 'knows', should, in strict psychological language, be what he 'discovers' or 'unveils'. What a man 'learns' is really what he 'discovers' by taking the cover off his own soul, which is a mine of indefinite knowledge.”
“Education is the manifestation of perfection already in man.”
-Swami Vivekananda
Greetings to all!
It gives me immense pleasure to be the president of this Prestigious Association which has achieved the great status in the last 25 years headed by the stalwarts in the field, Dr. R. K. Bali Sir, Dr. M. R. Shankar Aradhya Sir, my teacher, Dr. Ganesh Shenoy, Dr. S. S. Hiremath, and Dr. Aswath Narayanan M.
I am glad to inform that we are celebrating 25 years of our association. Whatever programs which will be conducted to mark this 25th year must be ongoing which requires documentation and we have to have a database of the oral health problems. All the Public Health Dentists in academics and those working in the hospitals and other institutions must take an active role and make this 25th year unique and memorable.
It was a great opportunity for me to be with Dr. R. K. Bali Sir, during one of the EC meetings where I remember sir saying “what is the use of going on doing research without its application? We must “SEARCH, that is something NEW.” What a wonderful practical saying from the man of experience.
Dr. Sabyasachi Saha, Honorary Secretary of our association, is also holding the prestigious post of Secretary, Dental Council of India. I am very happy about it.
We the Public Health Dentists in India must find out what is best suitable to improve the oral health status of our people with various cultural and social diversity.
Regarding the journal, I am happy to say that good quality work has been done to improve our journal and the credit goes to Dr. Aswath Narayanan M and Dr. Manjunath P. Puranik. I am sure Dr. Sowmya K. R. who has taken over the legacy will continue the same.
Let all of us work together, so that oral health of the poorest is also improved.
Best wishes.
