Greetings!
Welcome to the first issue of the year 2018.
First of all, I would like to sincerely thank all the members of this IAPHD to have elected me as the Editor of this prestigious journal. The legacy of bringing out the quality journal has been passed on to me, and at the same time, expectations are high. In this regard, it is important to maintain the quality and contribute for further improvement of the journal.
A well-written article, novel in concept and scientifically sound research design qualifies for a good paper. The demand to publish due to “publish or perish” culture among research and academic institutions is increasing. A highly ranked publication can propel young researchers in their academic careers. The system of publication credit points brought about by the Dental Council of India (DCI) has spurred the race for academicians to increase their number of publications. In this regard, original articles published in JIAPHD fetch the maximum credit points as this is the journal published by the Indian Dental Specialty Association approved by the DCI. Thus, we have seen a very good response in considering our journal for publishing the best research work not only by our specialty but also by other specialties.
Visibility leads to accessibility and readership. Indexing is an important facet for any research journal to enhance its visibility so that maximum researchers can reach to explore new innovative ideas and opportunities around the world. Indexing in high-quality indexing agencies is the priority. The suggestions given by our publishing partner in this regard have been incorporated. I request the authors and reviewers to work in the direction of improving the quality of the journal. Thereby, I welcome suggestions and guidance from the faculty members for the improvement of the journal.
I am extremely thankful to Dr Manjunath P. Puranik for giving his valuable guidance at every level of the editorial work.I sincerely thank Dr Arunadevi M madam, President, IAPHD, Dr Sabyasachi Saha Sir, Hon. Gen. Secretary, IAPHD and all the office bearers of IAPHD for supporting me in this work. I sincerely thank the editorial board members, the reviewers, the authors, and Medknow for extending their help in bringing out this first issue of 2018.
