Greetings to one and all!

”Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller.

Dental public health field has been expanding, and a Public Health Dentist is expected to develop strong analytical skills, excellent communication for discussing policies with lawmakers or others which includes written and spoken skills and attention to small details that can have a big impact on overall dental health of the public. I request all the faculty and students of Public Health Dentistry to work toward this.

I congratulate the Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry (IAPHD) Tamil Nadu chapter for organizing the Faculty Development Program for South Zone successfully which was attended by good number of our faculty members.

I am very glad to receive the news that our specialty all over India has observed the “World No Tobacco Day” on May 31 and spread the awareness about the ill effects of tobacco.

My best wishes to the Organizing Committee of the forthcoming National PG Convention (June 14 and 15, 2019, at Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi) of IAPHD, 2019, for a great event in every aspect.

The Association had decided in 2015 to join with the community and celebrate a National Public Health Dentistry Day on June 19 of each year. This is the first of its kind in the world. The program was dedicated to the nation on June 19, 2015, at the IX National PG convention at Nellore. This is the 5th year of the program. I request you all to celebrate the same in a grand manner.

Looking forward to meet you all at the postgraduate convention at New Delhi.
