Every year on November 7thth, the National Tooth brushing Day is observed in India under the aegis of Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry (IAPHD) to enforce the importance of educating every member of the society about the importance of oral health and maintaining good oral hygiene. The Department of Public Health Dentistry organized a webinar session to commemorate the National Tooth brushing Day on 7th November, 2020 among the students of D.R.Nayapalli College. Toothbrushing technique, duration and frequency of toothbrushing, correct time to replace a toothbrush including the importance of oral hygiene during the COVID-19 pandemic were some of the points that were emphasized upon not only for the students but also for the housekeeping staffs of KIDS. Dr. Gunjan Kumar conducted the programme along with the post graduate trainees of the department. Everyone participated with zeal and enthusiasm and also shared their experiences during the session.

Mental health is the most discussed topic this year as the world is experiencing the unprecedented impact of the global health emergency due to COVID-19 that has also impacted on the mental health of millions of people. Department of Public Health Dentistry, Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, organized a webinar session to commemorate the World Mental Health Day on 10th October, 2020. Dr. Raman Kumar [President Academy of Family Physicians of India, President WONCA and Chief editor JFMPC] was invited as the guest speaker to throw light on the importance of mental health and render solutions to stay mentally healthy during this COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Gunjan Kumar, the chief moderator of the programme along with Dr. Avinash Jnaneswar, Dr. Kunal Jha and Dr. Vinay Suresan coordinated the session which included all undergraduate and postgraduate dental students of KIDS. Everyone participated with zeal and enthusiasm and also shared their experiences during the session.
