| International Human Rights Day | |  |
Center- Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, Kiit Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar
On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, a health education and child rights awareness programme and Dental screening camp was organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS), KIIT Deemed to be University in association with ICPA, on 10th December 2021 at holistic education of children with disabilities and holistic employment of youth with disabilities in Government UP School, BJB Nagar, Bhubaneswar which is named as as an Inclusive Child Resource Centre under the State Disability Information and Resource Center (Swabhiman).
A team of 10 members from KIDS conducted the programme. The faculties-incharge were Dr. Gunjan Kumar and Phd scholar Dr. Arpita Singh, PGs-Dr.Samikshya Jena and Dr. Yagnaseni Mandal, Interns and paramedical staffs- Mr.Prahalad and Miss Mukta. An audio-visual presentation was given to explain the children, guardians and trainers about basic child rights in which the four child rights which included Right to Live, Right to Protection, Right to Development and Right to Participation were explained. It was followed by a Oral screening camp and distribution of notebook and crayons.
COORDINATORS- Dr.Gunjan Kumar, Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry, Dr.Arpita Singh,PhD Scholar coordinated this activity under the able guidance of Dr.Jugajyoti Pathi, Assistant Director and Dr.Ashwini Kar, Principal.

Center- Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, Kiit Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar
On the occasion of National Unity Day a free Dental screening camp was conducted and sample distribution was done at Social Equity Centre, Kharabela Nagar, Bhubaneswar organised by the Department of Public Health Dentistry, KalingaInstitute of Dental Sciences. Doctors accompanying were Dr.Gunjan (faculty), PGS- Dr Payal Dash, Dr.Samikshya Jena and Dr Yagnaseni Mandal and interns Gargi Ghosh, Gargi Chaudhury, Dipsankar and Jayesh Gurbaxani.
COORDINATOR- Dr.Gunjan Kumar, Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry coordinated this activity under the able guidance of Dr.Jugajyoti Pathi, Assistant Director and Dr.Ashwini Kar, Principal.
| World Cancer Day 2022 | | |
Center: Department of Public Health Dentistry Surendera Dental College and Research Institute
On the occasion of World Cancer Day that has been celebrated by Department of Public Health Dentistry, Surendera Dental College & Research Institute, Sri Ganganagar on 4th February 2022 in which awareness campaign was initiated to explain shopkeeper regarding pros & cons for Sale of tobacco products also about the guidelines given by Government which was COTPA 2003 (Cigarettes and other tobacco products Act). The department has given maximum emphasises upon the point that sale & purchase of tobacco products under the age of 18 years was prohibited and it further effect them with serious punishments. The pamphlets were distributed to shopkeeper also pasted in the wall of shops about the guidelines of COTPA 2003 in local language i.e. Hindi.

Center- Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, Kiit Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar
On the occasion of World AIDS Day, a health education and skit was organised by Department of Public Health Dentistry, Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University in association with ICPA, on 1st December 2021 at Garima Greh, Sakha, Sunderpada, Odisha.
A team of 22 members reached the destination at 11am.The faculties in charge Dr.Vinay S. ,Dr.Kunal Jha, Phd Scholar Dr.Arpita Singh were welcomed by the members of Garima Greh after which awareness skit on AIDS was delivered by the interns and Post graduates Dr.Payal, Dr.Priyanka, Dr.Samikshya, Dr.Yagnaseni and Dr.Aseema to the transgenders. Dr.Samikshya instructed about the proper tooth-brushing technique with the help of toothbrushing model ,maintenance of oral hygiene methods and several oral manifestations of AIDS.
After the health education, chief guest, Mrs Meera Parida ,social activist was felicitated by Dr.Kunal and vote of thanks was given by Dr.Vinay S. Mrs Meera madam addressed the target population about the various aspects of AIDS such as its causes, effects and prevention after the transgenders were also offered with samples of various mouthwashes and toothpastes.
A rally was also organised from Infocity chowk to Sai International school, Patia by the interns and Post graduates under the supervision of Dr.Kunal , Dr.Arpita and Dr.Sovesh.Slogans inspired from this years theme “End Inqualities.End AIDS.” were called out.
