Greetings to all, and best wishes for a prosperous new year in 2022.
The arrival of COVID-19, followed by the quick development of vaccinations, ushered in a tumultuous and unexpected period for dentistry. This upheaval has everyone in the dental field wondering and concerned about what's ahead in 2022.
Since its inception in 1993, our Association has grown to its current size thanks to the vision and meticulous teamwork of our members. Over the years, opportunities as faculty have been limited due to oversaturation and a lack of public health dentists in Dental Colleges, but things have gradually improved thanks to the association's ongoing efforts and DCI's support. However, as the saying goes, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, so there is no need to be disheartened because there are plenty of opportunities for good public health dentists. Such qualified professionals would never be short of work, whether in government or private hospitals, laboratories, or private practice. It is also worth mentioning the opportunities for public health dentists in the fields of research and administration. There is a vast opening in research for which grants are available and research positions are also advertised regularly.
Our specialty journal is also well appreciated and well-read by fellow colleagues, for which I must congratulate the editorial team for their good work!
Finally, I wish to add that as an Association, we all are equally responsible for the upliftment of our specialty in whichever way we can and all suggestions and advice from seniors in the profession will be received with an open mind.
Once again, Happy New Year!!
Long Live IAPHD.
