Greetings and welcome to the second issue of Journal of Indian Association of Public health Dentistry 2022. I congratulate the editor and the editorial board in successfully bringing about this issue successfully.
The IAPHD started in the year 1993. Started with only 24 members today the membership strength is now around 2200. This is one of the largest organised bodies of Public Health Dentists in the world today.
In 2015 the Association decided to celebrate a National Public Health Dentistry Day on June 19th of each year. This is the first of its kind in the world. The program was dedicated to the nation on 19th June 2015 at the IX National PG convention. This is the eighth year in progress. The theme for the year 2022 would be “New ventures, Innovations and wide Perspective of Public Health Dentistry” with the objectives of developing IEC Materials for oral health promotion, to educate undergraduate students about the scope of Public Health Dentistry and to increase visibility of this dental speciality and to gain public attention towards oral health care by various strategies. In this regard I request all the members to take active participation and make it a grand success and work towards achieving the goal.
