SUCCESS IS WHERE PREPARATION AND OPPORTUNITY MEET

Warm Greetings to One and All,

Dentistry has grown as a full-fledged profession in India and among all specialties; we have a branch of Public Health Dentistry to cater to the population needs.

Recently, a surge can be seen among public health dentists to acquire new skills and knowledge and also few opting for modules and courses offered by Indian Institute of Public Health and other institutions of repute. Thus, the role of networking and collaboration is necessary whereby other subspecialties of public health can get benefited by improving the curriculum and by getting assistance in most of the areas for betterment of the specialty.

Immediate collaborative efforts could be directed toward designing and adaptation of competency frameworks suitable for addressing public health challenges of 21st century, shifting the current focus of curriculum to multidisciplinary public health outlook, developing accreditation mechanisms for both the programs and institutions, engaging in creating job opportunities, and designing career pathways for public health professionals in public and private sectors. This could certainly be facilitated through the existing networks.

I am also glad to announce that the newly designed IAPHD website along with the mobile application is making a great progress among the fraternity. Without change, there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable.

Looking forward to a bright future of our association.

With regards.
