Warm Greetings to One and All,

As we step into another year, here’s wishing that God fills it up with the right ingredients that could be used to cook up a success story.

As New Year is always full of opportunities for improvement, therefore, this year, the key characteristic of IAPHD should be to have more strength-wise growth to improve the quality and reduce the out-of-pocket expenditure on oral health care through a well-regulated integration of the private sectors within the national health care system.

The new strategy should be used to generate a stronger voice and more coherent action at all levels. The target should be on reducing socio-economic inequalities in relation to local and national outcomes, opening-up possibilities for greater power and decision-making at local levels. It seeks to ensure that individuals and communities are empowered and able to influence decisions, priorities and service delivery.

However, there is clearly more that needs to be done, as the issues we face are complex, combining an ageing population, enduring inequalities, and changes in the pattern of disease requiring action to address the determinants of population health, as well as oral health. We need to be ready to respond effectively to all these challenges.

Information technology, mobile applications and software are the backbone of future oral health care delivery systems in India. They can play a major role in establishing patient-centred care and analysing the status, control and performance of the health teams.

Hope you unfold new horizons, fulfil new wishes, harbour new hopes and rediscover the strength within you to bring in positive changes at work with the unfolding of the New Year.

With warm regards.
